Prayer & Praise Palooza

This year over ten thousand runners will be participating in Lincoln’s Marathon.  There are also a large number of volunteers that make the Marathon happen.  At a recent prayer group, several people were talking about the power of prayer, and how powerful a service for the runners and volunteers at the Sunday marathon could be especially meaningful.  Since the participants would be representing many different denominations and beliefs, it seemed fitting to focus on what we have in common – prayer and praising through music!

That’s how the Prayer Praise Palooza was born!  We offer folks a way to pray and praise God for hours as we run or walk or volunteer.  What an amazing opportunity to have huge numbers of people praying at the same time all across Lincoln! 

Thanks to the Lincoln Track Club, we will have a Prayer Wall at the Marathon;  a place for anyone to post a prayer request, and pick one up – and know that somewhere in Lincoln,  someone they don’t even know is praying for them!

To participate, print off this prayer request sheet, list your prayer and stop by the PPP booth at the Runners Expo.  You can post your request and pick one up; there will also be a request in your packet.  We will also have the wall at the Palooza (need to list the time and location), which will be a great time to meet others and enjoy worshipping with  the Horizons Worship Team!

WOW…  All these folks praying at one time - now that’s power!

We will be attending the Runner’s Expo at the Embassy Suites downtown (10th & P) on Saturday, May 5th from 9am to 6pm, so you can stop by our booth, grab a prayer form and pin it up on the Prayer Wall.

Then that night, at 6:30pm, we will be at the Champion's Club for the big Spaghetti Feed, and we will have another opportunity for you to fill out a prayer form and pin it on the Prayer Wall.  Plus we will have live music from the Horizons Worship Band.  Stop by and see us.  We'll have a lot of fun, but most importantly, we'll all be praying at the same time!!
